Bromsgrove District Council Equality Small Grants Scheme 2021-22 is OPEN!

Hello

Bromsgrove District Council, in partnership with the Bromsgrove Engagement and Equalities Forum, have launched their Equality Small Grants Scheme!

The aim of the Bromsgrove District Council Equality Small Grants Scheme is to enable smaller voluntary, charitable or community organisation/group that operate in Bromsgrove District to deliver an achievable project that would benefit the community and challenges inequality, advances equality and/or celebrates diversity. It is a small grants scheme and is specifically for smaller voluntary, charitable or community organisations/groups who would find it hard to meet the criteria of bigger grants.

It is open for one round only and will support projects or activities being delivered between 1 July 2021 to 31 March 2022. The max limit for year is £750 per funding request, although please do only apply for the amount needed. The £750 limit applies if you are submitting a joint bid with another organisation unless you are bidding for different projects under a shared theme.

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 9th June 2021 at Midday.

Applications received after this date and time will not be accepted.

The Grant Application Form and Guidance is attached or available from www.bromsgrove.gov.uk/grants

Key dates/information
Opens Thursday 13 May 2021
Closes Wednesday 9 June 2021 at Midday
Max limit per application £750
Delivery timescale Projects/activities must be delivered between 1 July 2021 to 31 March 2022

Please do read the guidance as there have been some small changes. We are more than happy to talk over any ideas, read applications prior to submission and provide any additional guidance if required. Please spread the word about this opportunity and if you have any queries or questions, please do contact me.

In addition to this small grant scheme, there is another opportunity for 2021-22 to apply for a larger grant. If you are a larger voluntary, charitable or community organisation/group or your project requires more than £750 to be delivered, please consider applying for the Community Grants Scheme 2021/22 instead. The Community Grants Scheme replaces the New Home Bonus Community Grants Scheme but will follow the principles of that original scheme and applications will be limited to a maximum of £5,000 per project. There is £80,000 available and more information can be found here.

All the best and we look forward to receiving your application.

Kind regards

Emily

Wellbeing in Partnership E-Bulletin – Bromsgrove & Redditch – Update 41

Dear all,

Please find the latest information bulletin below.  (Please note: These bulletins are designed to replace our monthly e-newsletter for the time being.)

COVID Vaccinations – Book NOW if eligible

You do not need to wait to be contacted if any of the following apply:

  • you are aged 32 or over
  • you will turn 32 before 1 July 2021
  • you are at high risk from COVID-19 (clinically extremely vulnerable)
  • you have a condition that puts you at higher risk (clinically vulnerable)
  • you have a learning disability
  • you are an eligible frontline health or social care worker
  • you get a Carer’s Allowance, get support following an assessment by your local authority OR your GP record shows you’re a carer

If you’re an eligible unpaid carer but you cannot book an appointment online, please speak to your GP surgery.

You can book appointments at a larger vaccination centre or a pharmacy that provides COVID-19 vaccinations.

Book your coronavirus vaccination appointments online or by telephoning 119.

Can’t find your NHS number to book an appointment?  Then use this link:  www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/online-services/find-nhs-number/

If you are NOT eligible yet, please wait to be contacted.  Further information can be found at: www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination

COVID Testing – Rapid Lateral Flow Tests – for people who DO NOT have any symptoms

Everyone can access FREE regular rapid tests.  Regular, twice weekly rapid testing is encouraged, even if you have been vaccinated.  Around 1 in 3 people with COVID-19 do not have any symptoms.  Getting tested regularly finds hidden cases, ensuring you don’t pass it onto family members, friends or workmates.  If people test positive and self-isolate, it helps stop the virus spreading.

There are now more local places to get a free rapid asymptomatic COVID-19 test.  You can book at test, order online or simply pick up home testing at a range of local venues across Bromsgrove, Redditch and Worcestershire.  Your employer may also offer free rapid lateral flow testing.  The tests give you a result in just 30 minutes.  Further information, including FAQs, can be found here.

Have symptoms and need a PCR test?  Further information on both types of tests can be found here.

COVID Test and Trace Support Payment Scheme – *Reminder* of recent change to include parents/guardians

Please be reminded there was a change to this scheme in March as it was extended to parents and guardians who are not legally required to self-isolate, but who need to take time off work to look after a child or young person who is self-isolating.  Applicants will need to satisfy the existing eligibility criteria for the main or discretionary scheme to receive the payment.  Attached is more information.  For residents in Redditch and Bromsgrove, they can visit these links to find out more:

https://www.bromsgrove.gov.uk/money,-education-skills/benefits-help/nhs-covid-19-test-and-trace-self-isolation-support-payment.aspx

Highways England M40/M42 Interchange Scheme – survey works from May 2021

Good Morning,

I work for the contractors bmJV carrying out the above scheme on behalf of Highways England. Please see an update below of the ongoing overnight survey works if you could share this through your communication channels please.

If there is someone else who would benefit from this information please have them contact me to be added to the distribution list. If you have any questions contact me by return and do let me know if you do not want to receive future updates.

In early May we’ll start the final phase of our overnight survey work to gather information which will inform the design of this vital interchange upgrade scheme.

We’ll be working:

  • between M42 junctions 3 and 3a from 4 May to 27 May
  • between M42 junction 3a and M40 junction 16 from 1 June to 17 June
  • between M42 junctions 3a and 4 from 18 June to 23 July

What are we doing?

We’ll carry out a number of different surveys on both carriageways. These will include drilling carriageway core samples, excavating small trial holes and ecology inspections.

We’ll work overnight, when the road is at its quietest.

How will the survey work affect motorists?

To safely carry out the surveys we’ll need to close some lanes, in 4km sections at a time, but will keep one lane open on each carriageway while we work (Monday to Saturday between 9pm and 6am). We’ll take a ‘traffic count’ before we close the lanes and if the traffic levels are too high, we’ll delay the work until they reduce.

All lanes will be open as usual during the daytime.

We’ll also need to close the following slip roads overnight:

  • M40 to M42 northbound link road from 14 June to 25 June
  • M42 junction 3a to M42 northbound link road from 28 June to 25 July
  • M42 to M40 southbound link road from 12 July to 20 July

We’ll put in place clearly signed diversion routes to the next junction when the slip roads are closed.

We apologise for any inconvenience this work may cause and advise everyone travelling through the area to allow extra time for journeys.

Please note these dates and times may be subject to change due to poor weather or for operational reasons.
